Florida TNR Programs
CARE Feline Rescue, Inc.
CARE Feline Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer nonprofit corporation. The organization was founded in the fall of 1995. Our goal is to reduce the number of feral and stray cats impounded and euthanized by Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) each year. To achieve that end we coordinate a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program that utilizes both the citizens in our community and Orange County’s low cost spay and neuter clinic. Since the inception of the program, over 10,000 cats have been spayed or neutered, and received inoculations.

In 1999, leaders from all Sarasota County animal
welfare organizations and Sarasota County Animal Services agreed to develop a
plan to stop the killing of approximately 6,000 adoptable homeless dogs and
cats yearly. On February 28, 2001, ten animal welfare organizations formally
approved and agreed to actively support The Animal Rescue Coalition
Initiative.
